Steve Romeo is a leader with a passion for blending innovative technology with business opportunity to achieve exceptional results. Steve?s experience ranges from internal technology leadership to commercializing innovative systems. In his current role, Steve is the Executive Technologist for BREG, a medical device manufacturer located in San Diego. Steve is involved with a number of professional organizations, including the CIO Roundtable of San Diego, the Oracle Application User Group, and the Association of IT Professionals. Steve was recognized as one of the first Oracle ACE Directors, a San Diego Technology Executive of the year, a ComputerWorld Premier 100 IT Leader, and a CIO 100 award winner for commercializing mobile applications for healthcare.

Panelist Stuart Green is the Founder, President and CIO of Tagrem Corp, a multinational software, services and consulting company.  In this role he leads the technology team and provides the product vision for the Indition software platform. Tagrem was founded in 1999 and has grown to include operations in the United States, Canada, India and Vietnam.  In 2012 Tagrem launched Indition as an alternative to existing e-business suites for mid market companies from the likes of Oracle, IBM and Ebay. Indition is the culmination of years of experience in developing and managing large-scale software platforms.

Ryan Fay is the global CIO at ACI Specialty Benefits.  Ryan brings more than a decade of Executive IT expertise to audiences around the globe. A Keynote speaker and recognized Technology Evangelist specializing in development, implementation and delivery of global technology solutions. Ryan has a demonstrated ability delivering value at all stages of business and a proven ability designing, building and supporting 24/7 highly scalable global technology environments, and managing multi-specialty international technology teams. Ryan will speak authoritatively on topics ranging from Data Security and pragmatic scalability to the Benefits of Technology Leadership.

Jonathan Behnke is the CIO for the City of San Diego. He has over 20 years of IT experience managing and implementing technology for a broad range of industries including public sector, contract services, oil, construction, automotive, distribution, consulting, and manufacturing.  In Jonathan’s current role he is responsible for the technology strategy and operations for America's eighth largest City including data center, network, voice, public safety wireless communications, web services, enterprise applications, portfolio management, cybersecurity, GIS, and data analytics in support of over 10,000 users and 1.4 million citizens.    He also serves on the Board of Directors for SanGIS, a joint powers authority between the City and County of San Diego responsible for maintaining a regional GIS land base and data warehouse. In support of CA Governor's Office of Emergency Services, he also serves on the California Cybersecurity Task Force. Jonathan is also a member of the MetroLab Network Smart Cities Initiative, Multi-State Information Sharing and Analysis Center, The Municipal Information Systems Association of California, San Diego Infragard, and Metropolitan Information Exchange representing a group of CIO’s from the largest cities and counties in the USA.

Giri Durbhakula is the CIO at National Pen.  He is a highly accomplished and experienced Technology Executive, with expertise in many industries such as Retail, Manufacturing, High-Tech, CPG, and Financial Services. Giri is Vice President & CIO for National Pen, a B2B Retailer/Manufacturer specializing in promotional products, operating in over 24 countries.  In addition, he also serves as a mentor and advisor to a handful of startups in a variety of industries. Prior to this, he was Vice President of Multi-Channel Technology at Petco, where he was responsible for Merchandising, eCommerce, Supply Chain and Marketing, and served as a key change agent in helping lead many key Omni-channel transformation projects.

He has also served in senior technology leadership roles at companies such as Charlotte Russe, Fair Isaac, Intuit, Targetbase, and Gateway.  In addition to his overall technology and business leadership and experience, he has a deep background in Data and Analytics in many areas such as Customer, Marketing, Merchandising, Supply Chain, Fraud, and Credit scoring.

He has over 25 years of experience and has been an industry practitioner, management consultant and vendor, and brings a unique perspective to bear in helping solve business problems that enable strategic business growth for companies. He has written many articles and has also spoken at many different forums in his career on many topics. He has an undergraduate degree in Engineering and a graduate degree in Management from Washington University in St. Louis, as well as Executive Business Management courses from Stanford University.

Ralph Linares is the CIO at Events.com.   He is responsible for managing the Events.com cloud based platforms, on premises infrastructure, and security practice. His background in starting and growing successful technology consulting firms has helped Events.com grow at a rapid pace.  In his spare time, Ralph races sports cars and is a high performance driving instructor.

February 17 - a special Breakfast Panel Discussion on the Increasingly Agile PMO

This event runs from 7:30 AM to 9:30 AM.

To be truly effective, PMOs must reflect the organizational culture and strategy—or risk being dismissed as an unnecessary layer of bureaucracy. 

A PMO must provide tangible, repeatable, long-term benefits. To do so, they must be customized from the start to align with organizational strategy and be prepared to change as corporate strategy shifts. They must also communicate those results throughout their organization to earn executive support an only by doing so will PMOs be viewed as offering a competitive edge. 

Some questions that will be discussed:

  • - How do you define and articulate the value of your PMO?
  • - What is the number one challenge that you think PMOs face today?
  • - What should drive an organization to consider adopting a new Agile practice?
