The Covid Pandemic was the quickest catalyst for digital transformation.  New policies had to be implemented overnight to make employees both productive and secure from their home offices.  Four years later, the office and work landscapes remain disrupted as companies scramble to adapt to what’s best in a “Hybrid Work from Home” world.

Join us as we open a conversation that explores multiple perspectives on the topic.  Current AITP San Diego Members get FREE entry! Take advantage of your membership today for the opportunity to grow your technical network.

Meet The Panelists

Corey Kepler – Head of IT @ Singular Genomics

Corey Kepler has been working in technology and systems for over 25 years.  He has worked as a Principal Engineer, Architect and led diverse and transformational engineering operations teams for organizations such as Shield AI, Kyriba Corp, Verifone, Bumble Bee Foods, and currently Singular Genomics.  His projects have been reviewed by Forrester and featured at AWS re:Invent.

Corey excels in mentoring and empowering young engineers; teaching habits that enforce best practice and providing opportunities for personal/career growth. He has a very ‘hands on’ leadership style and commonly works alongside the engineers on his team to drive projects and initiatives.  A hybrid-work-from-home management style is embraced by Corey and Singular Genomics.

Scott Schindler – Senior Vice President @ JLL

As a former real estate and business attorney, Scott is uniquely positioned in the brokerage industry to provide high-level and sophisticated representation to business owners searching for that dream office or industrial space. Scott is focused on lifetime relationships with his clients, striving to provide ambitious representation and custom solutions that favor long-term growth.

Scott’s experience working with business owners on commercial office space provides a unique perspective to the hybrid-work-from-home movement.  His insight will show what business leaders are thinking about from a business strategy and cultural angle.

Brad Boyle – Identity Architect @ Viasat

Brad has 15+ years of experience in Information Technology leadership; applying process, problem-solving, people and technical skills to evolve individual, team and organizational objectives.   His experience aligns business needs with IT infrastructures, design, development and implementation of networks, systems, and software – specifically for the security requirements of Enterprise Identity Management.

IM (Identity Management) is critical to enterprise security as it is the core control to limit or allow user access to company assets such as IT Systems, Applications, and Data.  A well-defined Identity Management plan sets the foundation for mitigating breaches, identity theft and illegal access to systems.  Brad’s experience within this space provides insight into how a large-scale IT operation should tackle identity in and out of the office.

Carny Cheng – VP of Engineering @Measurabl

Carny Cheng is the Senior Vice President of Engineering at Measurabl, where he drives innovation in sustainability data management through technology. With a rich background in software development and a passion for sustainable solutions, Carny leads his team in creating impactful software products. He holds advanced degrees in Computational Science and Computer Engineering and is recognized for his expertise in leveraging technology to address environmental challenges.

Measurbl is a San Diego based software company that focuses on sustainable energy practices in real estate.  They have embraced a 100% work from home policy since Covid.  Carny’s experience in the Software specific to the Real Estate space and the decision to run remote is a perfect combination to address the hybrid work from home movement.
